Arne Slot Asserts He Feels Safe and Retains Liverpool's Backing Following PSV Humiliation

Arne Slot admitted that it's expected for concerns to be asked about his future after another convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds endured their 9th defeat in 12 games, marking the team's poorest streak after being demoted in 1953-54.

They were dominated by the Dutch league title holders on a tough night at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I'm fine, I've received plenty of support from management,” Slot stated.

“It would be nice to change things and earn three points of course but if you are coaching a team and struggling then it's typical that people question you.”

He added, “I am OK with my position. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's necessary that we changed our fortunes.”

Discussions with Club Management

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his conversations with the team officials, Slot explained:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist for the squad and to me and those talks happen but they don't phone me constantly of the day to say they have faith in me.”

He added, “Through standard exchanges I perceive the confidence. However I haven’t spoken to them since this game yet so let’s see.”

Familiar Issues and Squad Response

The manager expressed regret over known weaknesses from his squad in their European loss, specifically poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the club’s predicament.

“I don’t have the solutions. Truthfully, I do not. I'm telling that to everybody,” Jones said.

“It’s just unacceptable. I don't need to wait to consider it. I'm beyond getting mad internally. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the vocabulary.”

He added, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the side I follow. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen Liverpool since I was young.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team going through a spell like this with performances this poor.”

He stated, “However we still have the crest on our shirts. And until it is gone, we will always battle.”

“We’re going to try to bring this squad return to its rightful place, prove again what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the top club in the world.”

“But right now, we’re in the shit and we have to turn it around.”
