Dallas Cowboys Defensive Lineman Marshawn Kneeland Dies at 24 Years Old
He was the 56th overall pick in the 2024 draft
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland has died aged 24.
The Cowboys selected the Cowboys in the second round of the draft in the 2024 NFL Draft and played 18 times for the team, including four starts.
He scored his first touchdown in the Tuesday game to the Arizona Cardinals when he retrieved a blocked punt.
"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organisation," the Dallas Cowboys said.
"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family."
Kneeland was picked by the Cowboys with the 56th selection of the 2024 draft after playing college football for Western Michigan.
His agent, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart aches" for the loss of the athlete who "poured his heart" into every moment.
"I watched him fight his way from a aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a dream to being a esteemed pro for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley commented.
The NFL said it is "deeply saddened" by the news.
