Fresh Details Emerge Concerning the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
New information has come to light regarding the untimely deaths of esteemed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.
A Alarm
As detailed in an account referencing a confidential source, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Proceedings
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now in custody without bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.
Furthermore disputed widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to descriptions of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
