The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bentham. This character has the ability to change into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and animated series.

This performer will work alongside multiple new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to life, featuring chief Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Even though this character is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this signals a significant shift in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.

Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
