Three Game Pass Titles We're Enjoying This Weekend (October 10-12)

Following Microsoft's recent news of Game Pass membership changes, including a cost hike for the Ultimate Tier to $thirty per month, numerous subscribers are looking for new methods to maximize their membership. If you keeping their membership or considering joining, here are this week's recommendations.

Our selected games include a beloved JRPG, a charming indie journey, and a brilliant puzzler scheduled to depart from the service soon.

Persona 4: The Golden Edition

One of the best methods to get your money's worth from Game Pass is by immersing yourself in a lengthy, engaging role-playing game — and Persona 4: The Golden Edition fits that bill exactly. Players take on the role of a teenager who has relocated to the quiet countryside of Inaba. By day, your goals include making new friends, working part-time jobs, and managing schoolwork. At night, you work to solve a chilling serial murder case by venturing into unique dungeons themed around your companions' deepest insecurities.

With a memorable group of heroes, strategic battle system, flawless art design, and a plot packed with surprises, Persona 4: The Golden Edition is considered a masterpiece for good reason. It also boasts a highly engrossing gameplay loop that will have you playing late into the night, night after night.

Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato

Although major titles like Ninja Gaiden IV are a key selling point for the service, the subscription also highlights lesser-known games. A great instance of this is Sopa - Tale of the Stolen Potato. Drawing from Spirited Away, this charming independent game is a magical realist tale steeped in South American traditions. You join Miho, who, after assisting his grandma prepare soup, is transported to a colorful world populated by potato-nabbing frogs and various quirky animals.

Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato plays out similar to an learning-focused PC game from the 90s, as Miho solves challenges and aids the world's residents by collecting an inventory of items. Even if it's a bit unpolished, Sopa is a sweet small experience that proudly celebrates its love for the region's culture.

Cocoon: A Puzzle Adventure

Cocoon is scheduled to leave Game Pass on October 15, giving you only a few days to play it via your membership — and you definitely should. Developer Geometric Interactive designed one of the finest puzzlers of recent years in the 2023 release Cocoon: A Puzzle Adventure. Its core puzzle mechanic revolves around transitioning between worlds within additional worlds, and often you'll transport those worlds, in the form of colorful spheres, with you.

While it lacks explicit instructions, everything about Cocoon: A Puzzle Adventure's challenges is built in a very intuitive way, though they will challenge you as well. 2023 was a massive year for games, so it's understandable if Cocoon was a bit missed by many players. Let's rectify that while we can.
